Garage Door Only Opens Part Way Cold
Another reason that your garage door won t open all the way in cold weather is probably that the metal has contracted.

If the door reverses part way down and you are sure there is no obstruction or binding increase the closing force a small amount and try it again. Some older garage door openers do not have nicely labeled adjustment screws for force and travel limits. Pull the emergency release and manually open and close the door to see if it is binding up when it is cold.
